Rush Through the Roster: #41, former #12 Isaac Virgin

#12 - Isaac Virgin - 6-4 245-pounds - RS Junior - TE - Ft. Pierece, FL (Westwood HS)

2011 stats: Virgin had 1 reception for 6 yards and returned one punt for 7 yards, both against Ball State.  He played in 10 games on special teams.

Position on the depth chart: Virgin did not appear on the two-deep depth chart coming out of the spring.

2012 projection: Virgin is a very big, athletic player that has a lot of upside, but over the past few years he has not broken through.  A few seasons ago, Virgin showed his skill and with his size, he could be a big target down the field, but for whatever reason, he has not put it together on the field.  Now with more competition on the depth chart, he will have to battle even harder to get on the field.

(Roster numbers changed and Virgin, once at #12, changed to 41, so we had to get him in on this countdown)

Rush Through the Roster: #11 Matt Floyd

#11 - Matt Floyd - 6-1 201-pounds - RS Freshman - Quarterback - Milton, FL (Milton, HS)

2011 stats: Floyd enrolled early last season and redshirted his first year (Holtz nearly burned his redshirt to have him play late in the year).

Position on the depth chart: Floyd is listed as the co-back-up on the depth chart coming out of the spring.

2012 projection: Floyd has shined the last two springs and is in a heated battle with Eveld for the number two-spot behind Daniels.  Like Eveld, neither one has pulled ahead on the depth chart, so expect this battle to go deep into the fall and into the season.  Offensive coordinator Todd Fitch has said he would like to see reserve quarterbacks used more this season, so we should see him take the field at some point this year.

Rush Through the Roster: #13 Bobby Eveld

#13 - Bobby Eveld - 6-5 217-pounds - Junior - Quarterback - Tampa, FL (Jesuit HS)

2011 stats:  Eveld appeared in 6 games last year, starting 1 (Daniels injured).  He completed 37 out 67 pass attempts (55.2%) for 357 yards, including 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions.  He rushed 9 times for 15 yards.

Position on the depth chart:  Eveld is listed as the co-number two quarterback, tied with freshman Matt Floyd coming out of the spring.

2012 projection: Eveld had a solid spring, but is entrenched in a battle with fast rising freshman Matt Floyd for the back-up role behind Daniels.  Last season, Eveld looked off target with his throws and footwork, hampering the Bulls offense in his limited playing time.  Eveld has shown in the past his ability to make plays, but has his work cut out for him this fall and could be battling for the number two spot throughout the season.

Rush Through the Roster: #14 Fidel Montgomery

(Picture: 247 Sports)
#14 - Fidel Montgomery - 6-0 186-pounds - Junior - DB - Marianna, FL (Marianna HS) (Southwest Mississippi C.C.)

2011 stats:  Montgomery is part of the 2012 recruiting class and enrolled early this spring, participating in practices.

Position on the depth chart: Montgomery is listed as the starting cornerback opposite of Kayvon Webster on the two-deep depth chart coming out of spring.

2012 projection: Montgomery is a very physical player that stepped up this spring and won the starting job (at least for now).  In his two years in C.C., he totaled 177 tackles, showing his ability to come up and take down the ball carrier.  USF will need him to keep up that trend in production as they look to fill the hole at cornerback.

Bulls Land 15th Commitment of 2013 Class

Jeff Badet already looks good in green and gold (Picture credits: 247 Sports)
From Bulls 247 - The Bulls continue to recruit well and have landed another big target from the Orlando area this time with the 15th commitment of the 2013 class, wide receiver Jeff Badet.

Jeff Badet (5-11 160-pounds) the 2-star wide receiver out of Orlando, FL (Freedom HS) also had offers from Boston College, Louisville, FIU, and Memphis among others.  Badet is a quick slot receiver that can beat press coverage and can cause damage against secondaries.  He will be a huge addition to the recruiting class.  Check out the video below for some highlights from his junior season.

Badet is a great addition and will join a loaded receiving corps that could be among the best in the Big East for years to come.  Welcome to the USF family Mr. Badet!

Rush Through the Roster: #15 Victor Marc

#15 - Victor Marc - 5-11 225-pounds - Senior - WR - Hallandale, FL (Hallandale HS)

2011 stats:  Marc was used as a running back, wide receiver, and return man last year (can also be a quarterback as well).  He finished the season with 33 receptions for 357 yards (10.8 per catch) and scored 2 touchdowns (long reception on the year was 33 yards).  He carried the ball 8 times for 71 yards and a touchdown and returned 13 punts for 93 yards, including a long of 67 yards.

Position on the depth chart:  Marc was listed as one of the three starting wide receivers, ahead of Terrence Mitchell coming out of the spring.

2012 projection: Marc is a versatile player for the Bulls offense.  His immediate impact is at receiver where he has the speed to break away from defenders, but he is also a tough runner.  He has the size to lower his pads and get extra yards, making him ideal at running back in spot situations.  Holtz stated he will be rotated in the backfield where he can take direct handoffs.  He struggled at times with fielding punts, so he will have to work on that this fall if he will be back to handle those duties.

Rush Through the Roster: #16 Ryan Eppes

(We won't see him throwing too many passes this season)

#16 - Ryan Eppes - 6-1 220-pounds - RS Junior - LB - Seminole, FL (Largo HS)

2011 stats:  Eppes appeared in two games last year at quarterback.

Position on the depth chart:  Eppes did not make the two-deep depth chart coming out of spring.

2012 projection:  Eppes moved from quarterback to linebacker this spring.  He's been with the team for a few years now and with his size and athletic ability should be able to make a few plays as a reserve and on special teams this year.

Rush Through the Roster: #16 Reshard Cliett

#16 - Reshard Cliett - 6-2 212-pounds - RS Sophomore - LB - Thomasville, GA (Thomasville County Central HS)

2011 stats:  Cliett appeared in 9 games last season.  He totaled 5 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 sack, and 1 PBU.

Position on the depth chart:  Cliett is listed as the number two SAM linebacker, behind Sam Barrington, on the two-deep depth chart coming out of the spring.

2012 projection:  Cliett emerged on the scene last year after bulking up in the off-season and showing his skill in the fall.  He played on special teams and made a few appearances on defense as a reserve.  This season, look for him to continue his maturation at the linebacker position and get more snaps..  Holtz needs the young linebackers to step up and provide depth and show the future of the unit and Cliett is among the best of the young linebackers.

Rush Through the Roster: #18 Justin Brockhaus-Kann

#18 - Justin Brockhaus-Kann - 6-2 212-pounds - RS Senior - Punter - Winter Springs, FL (Winter Springs HS)

2011 stats:  JBK played in all 12 games last season, punting the ball 62 times.  He averaged 36.3 yards per kick (down from 2010) including a long of 55 yards (30 inside the 20 yard line) and had 4 touchbacks.

Position on the depth chart:  JBK is listed as the number two punter coming out of the spring behind freshman Mattias Ciabatti.

2012 projection: JBK led one of the best punt return coverage units in the nation last year (the Bulls hardly ever allowed a big return against them and people usually called for a fair catch).  JBK's kicking average, however, dropped last season as he struggled to get off long kicks on a consistent basis,.  Ciabatti proved more effective this spring and won the job heading into the fall.  JBK will have to increase his average and battle Ciabatti (possibly a healthy Veron) if he wants to win the job back.

USF Lands 14th Commitment of 2013 Class

From Bulls 247 - As Holtz and company were attending the Big East media day, the team landed its 14th commitment of the 2013 class from Jesuit High School (Tampa, FL) OL/DT Robert Garcia.

Garcia (6-4 252-pounds) rated a 2-star recruit by Rivals.com (not rated by 247 sports) had offers from FAU, Air Force, and Iowa State among others but he told Bulls 247 with the commitment that "everything just felt right at USF."

This is the 5th Tampa commitment for the Bulls (Cameron Ruff is another Jesuit HS product that is committed to the Bulls and their 14th commit overall.
