We are all saddened tonight as we learn about the passing of Hall of Famer Lee Roy Selmon. Selmon, age 56, suffered a massive stroke just two days ago and had been in a hospital before passing away this evening.
Selmon, the former AD of USF from 2001 to 2004, had long been part of the university, working since 1993 to bring football to USF, working in the community and truly being a great representative for USF. Even after stepping down in 2004, Selmon has continued to work in fundraisers and has had a major hand in improving facilities on campus and simply being a great pressence in the community.
It is safe to say, no Selmon, maybe no football for the university. Rest in peace Mr. Selmon. We send our prayers and best wishes to his family.
