USF Volleyball Drops Two Games

The USF ladies will have to step up the intensity today to get their first win of the season. (Picture: www.gousfbulls.com)
While the football team was getting the job done, the USF ladies were struggling to get anything going as they continued to falter during the USF Volleyball Invitational.

The ladies dropped the first match of the day to UMES and then were swept in the final game, 3 sets to nothing, by Bowling Green State University (they were awful last season and now winning). The two losses drop the Bulls to 0-5 to start the season and leaves them with just one more chance to get a win during this tournament. The Bulls will take on Bethune-Cookman College today at 2PM, praying for that first win of the season.

BCC is 2-4 to start the season, dropping a match yesterday to EKU (at least they have two wins on the season). BCC is a solid team with a corps of veteran players. Janeen Davis (5-11 JR.), Frances Rodriguez (5-6 SR), Krysta Gardner (5-8 JR), Alexis Bliese (5-7 SOPH.), and Jennifer Jimenez (5-7 SOPH) were part of the team that went 7-26 last season, so they are hungry for another win and USF just needs to notch their first one and put the bad matches from yesterday behind them.

Janice Rivera for USF leads the team with 52 digs, J'beria Davis has 55 kills to lead the way (aggressive, will continue to attack for the Bulls), and new comer Valeria El Houssine has 43 kills and 38 digs, showing her ability to play all over the court. The Bulls need to get a win here, losing all the games at home during your tournament would not end the weekend on a good note for Claire Lessinger and her team, so pack the gym today (game is at 2PM, no excuses) and support the ladies!
