USF Soccer Takes on FGCU


The USF men's soccer team, 5-2-2 (1-0-1) hits the road for a big game against in-state opponent Florida Gulf Coast University. USF is 2-0-1 away from home this season and is looking for a big non-conference win before getting back into Big East play. GFCU is 4-2-1, 1-1 at home this season, so they will be looking for the huge upset. Here is what they bring to the field.

FGCU is led by senior midfieler Josey Portillo (5-8 135-pounds). He has 1 goal on the season along with 4 assists (has taken 11 shots). Senior midfielder Francesco Distefano (5-7 145-pounds) has 2 goals and 1 assists on the season. Junior midfielder Andreas Navas (5-11 150-pounds) has 2 goals and 1 assists as well, helping to balance the scoring across the front line.

Junior forward William Morse (6-1 165-pounds) has 1 goal on the season and 3 assists. Junior midfielder Christian Raudales (5-10 165-pounds) has 2 goals (has taken 10 shots on the season). Senior Adam Glick (6-2 205-pounds) has allowed 9 goals this season (1.07 per game). He has made 35 stops (.795 stopping percentage) and has two shut out wins, so the defense can lock it down everytime. Dom Dwyer (7 goals on the season) will have to lead the attack.
