The USF soccer team, 8-2-2 (3-0-1) is sitting in first place and will look to add to its win total when it hits the road to take on Big East foe Syracuse.
The Orange are 2-8-2 (0-3-1) and just 2-3-0 at home this season. They lost their last home match to St. John's 1 to 2 and will be looking for the big upset win. Dom Dwyer and his 11 goals will try to keep the winning streak going and take them down (game starts at 7PM).
The Orange are led by senior midfielder Mick Roydhouse (5-7 151-pounds). He leads the team with 2 goals and 2 assists. He has also taken 30 shots on the season, so the Bulls will have to limit his touches. Junior forward Louis Clark (5-10 150-pounds) has 2 goals as well.
Freshman defender Skylar Thomas (6-3 180-pounds) has 2 goals on the season (impressive for a player on the backline to have that many shots already). Sophomore defender Dan Summers (6-2 190-pounds) has 1 goal and 2 assists (has taken 35 shots already). Junior midfielder Ted Cribley (6-0 1 70-pounds) has 3 assists this season as well.
Senior goalkeeper Phil Boerger (6-2 190-pounds) will be the man in charge to stop Dwyer. He has allowed 16 goals this season (1.52 per game). He has made 45 saves (.738) and has one shut out game (tie game against Louisville).
This is a game USF should win. Syracuse is not that good, struggles to score goals, and gives up plenty of chances. USF is rolling right now and has more firepower. While Dwyer might be held scoreless (Orange will try to take him out of the game) the other players like Charpie, Paul, and Aubrey will all have to set up and put pressure on the Orange backline. Let's hope they can notch the win here.
