Five Ways USF can Win/Lose to WVU

Darrell Scott and the running game have to get going in this game.
It is the final game of the season as the Bulls. USF is 5-6 and is facing a losing season, the first time since 2004. If the Bulls want to win the game against WVU, they will have to dig deep in order to do so. Here are 5 ways the Bulls can win or lose this game.

5 ways USF can win this game

Quarterback play - Whether Daniels or Eveld gets the start, the USF quarterback has to move the offense. Whether it is handing off to the running backs or making the right reads and throws in the passing game, the Bulls have to move the ball on offense and keep WVU off the field.

Running game - With questions at quarterback, the USF running backs have to come to play in this game. Scott and Murray were bottled up against Louisville, but expect them to come out strong and get the job done in the final game of the season and help control the ball.

Pride - The Bulls are not use to losing games, especially 6 of the last 7 and facing a losing season. The seniors are the glue to this team so expect them to get the team together and find a way to come together and play their hearts out in this game. They need to leave it all out on the field in this game.

Game at home - This is the last game of the season and the last game for the seniors at home, the Bulls will have the energy in this game. The home crowd should be bigger with the students returning from the holiday weekend and being on ESPN, the energy of the stadium should help the Bulls.

Pressure - The Bulls have been able to get great pass pressure with the linebackers and with the defensive front. The WVU offense likes to sit back and sling the ball all over, so the Bulls have to get to Geno Smith and take him down before he can get the ball out all over the field.

5 ways USF can lose this game

Team sliding - The team is simply fading right now. There are rumors of bickering, injuries are mounting up, and facing a tough team like WVU, it could be a worst case scenario in this game for the Bulls, especially when they are down like this.

Quarterback play - The Bulls are going to have to get something out of the quarterback position, whether Eveld or Daniels gets the start. With the tough WVU defense, the lack of weapons, and the inconsistent play at the position, it will be the deciding factor of the game for both sides in this game.

Holgorsen offense - The Cardinals threw the ball all over the field against USF secondary, allowing big gains. The WVU offense is going to throw the ball all over the place, so the Bulls have to figure out how to stop the passing game or it could be a very long night for USF.

Thursday night - USF always struggles on Thursday night. Whether it be the short week, being on a national stage, or the curse of Craig James (we all know he is the commentator on those nights, something has to give right?), the Bulls seem to fail to win so we could see it again.

Offense can't keep pace - WVU is going to score (baring a miracle) but can USF get enough points on the board to keep pace? It will be a real challenge for the Bulls to match the high flying offense of WVU and could be the end of the season.
