Key Matchups for USF vs. WVU

There are a lot of match-ups in this game against WVU. The Mountaineers, they have a lot of weapons that the Bulls will have to deal with on the field, but here are a few of the biggest match-ups as the Bulls try to get a huge win in the final game of the season.

USF Quarterbacks vs. DE Bruce Irvin

Whoever starts for USF at QB will have to contend with the explosive pass rush of Bruce Irvin. Irvin is listed at defensive end, but can stand up like a linebacker and get incredible pressure on the quarterback. He is very fast, so the USF QBs will have to watch their back against him during the game.

Darrell Scott vs. LB Najee Goode

The USF running game will have to be the primary weapon in this game, both getting yardage and keeping WVU off the field. Scott will have to face the hard hitting linebacker Najee Goode who does a great job in the box, both stopping the run and getting back on pass coverage.

Andre Davis vs. CB Keith Tandy

Davis is one of the young receivers that will have to step up and come up with huge passes for USF. Keith Tandy is a senior defensive back and will match up against Davis the entire game, trying to take him out of the game and make life hard for the USF passing game.  Both Love and Griffin are gametime decisions, so look for Davis to get plenty of playing time out there.

Dede Lattimore vs. QB Geno Smith

Geno Smith likes to sit back in the pocket and pick apart a defense. Mark Snyder is sending Dede Lattimore more on blitz calls, so look for him to get pressure on Smith. Smith is not a big time scrambler, so the Bulls have to collapse the pocket and get him done on the ground.

USF Secondary vs. WRs of WVU

WVU loves to spread the ball all over the field, finding all their weapons. The USF secondary, with multiple injuries, will have to find a way to lock down the zones and do a better job on man coverage and wrapping up tackles. Allowing the WVU receivers to catch the ball in space could make for a horrible night.
