Where do we begin? The Bulls, on an early kick off with the stands empty, lost the game 24 to 34 to the Louisville Cardinals. The Cards had not won in Tampa since 1972, but they changed that history as USF killed themselves with bad special teams, fumbles, no offense and were beaten up in the secondary. The Bulls are now 5-6 (1-5) on the season and will have the WVU game for their last desperate chance to try to get to bowl eligibility.
The Bulls defense were beaten early in the first half, but were able to take control after the first quarter. The offense did just enough to take the lead into the first half, but the Cards did score before they went into the locker room. The second half was a completely different story. The Cardinals could do whatever they wanted, converting on third and long multiple times. The USF defense could not get to Bridgewater and playing their soft zone allowed multiple long touchdown throws by Bridgewater. The offense went ice cold. Eveld couldn't throw to anyone, the running backs were bottled up, and only a trick play by Murray got the only offense for the Bulls in the second half.
The Bulls are falling apart. There was no energy on the sideline, there were blown assignments all over the field, and the playcalling again was suspect in certain situations. We will have our inside the numbers later tonight (maybe tomorrow after we stop break things), but this was just a rough game to watch. There is not much pulse left with the fans, they will get WVU next Thursday night (already dreading this one)
$#!@$ this team!
