USF Soccer Gets Huge Win on PK Kicks over New Mexico!

The USF soccer team battled into double overtime and into penalty kicks, coming away with a huge win over once undefeated New Mexico, winning 6 to 5 on penalty kicks.

USF battled hard with New Mexico the entire game, pushing the tempo in the first half. Dom Dwyer had 6 shots on the night, coming close to the goal on several tries, but just short. The Lobos had their chances late in the game, but could not convert anything on net, sending the game into double overtime, where neither team could not get close either.

Both teams went into PK kicks, leading into sudden death. Santi Alexis made a huge goal for USF, after not playing the entire game. The Lobos had a chance, but could not convert to stay alive as Chris Blais made a huge save to send USF into the elite 8!!!

This was an incredible win for USF as the move into the elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls will now travel to face Creighton on Saturday afternoon at 1PM as they try to make their way to the Final 4. Congratulations to the men tonight for the incredible win they managed tonight in front of a sell out crowd!
