USF WBB takes on Central Michigan

The USF WBB team is on a long and cold road trip as they head to Alaska for the Carry/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout (Yes, basketball in Alaska). The Bulls have won 3 straight and are hoping to keep it going as they face Central Michigan in the first round (game scheduled for 6PM EST).

Central Michigan is 0-2 to start the season, but has dangerous guards that will challenge the Bulls on the perimeter.

Freshman guard Crystal Bradford (6-0) is averaging 15.5 points a game (leads the team) and pulls down 3 rebounds a game. Freshman forward Jas'mine Bracey (6-2) averages 13.5 points a game and 9.5 rebounds a game, so look for her to battle Akila McDonald and Caitlin Rowe in the paint all game.

Sophomore guard Niki Diguilio (5-8) is averaging 10.5 points a game and 3.8 rebounds a game. freshman guard Jessica Green (5-10) averages 9 points a game and 6.5 rebounds a game. Senior forward Skylar Miller (5-10) is averaging 4 points and 3 rebounds a game.

From what you can see, Central Michigan relies on the guards. They have several young players at the guard positions, so the Bulls have the advantage there. They will also have the size advantage with Rowe and McDonald inside. Miller is 5-10 in the paint, joining 6-2 Bracey, so the Bulls post players, both measuring in at 6-4, can battle the boards the entire game.

USF is playing well right now, even without Andrea Smith (knee). Hopefully the long flight won't impact the ladies too much and they can keep winning and improve on their record.
