USF Lands Two MBB Commits for Class of 2013

It is not often that USF basketball gets commits for future classes, but according to Adam Adkins, Stan Heath has landed two for the 2013 recruiting class.

USF has landed verbal commits from 7-0 215 pound center John Egbunu and 6-0 180-pound point guard Drew Davis from McDonough (Eagles Landing HS) GA who both play for AAU Team Georgia Elite.

According to Georgia Elite Magazine, Heath and assistant coach Steve Roccaforte followed Egbunu and Davis during the summer to watch their games, coming away impressed. Coach Davis, head coach of Team Georgia Elite, stated that Egbunu is the most dominate center in the state of Georgia and calls him Dwight Howard Jr. (we can live with that). Coach Davis stated he is a dominate shot blocker and has a 38" vertical, something that could be huge for USF. Davis the PG has NBA-type range at the 3-point line and is a pin-point passer as well. Coach Davis considers him one of the top players in the class of 2013.

If the current roster stays together (no one leaving early, etc.) USF would have just one more scholarship for the 2013 class and would have a very strong team. Let's hope they can stay with their commits and become part of the USF family in the next few years.
