USF Lands Big Time WR Commitment

Good work Skip! (Picture: www.baynews9.com)

After a night of bad news, USF finally got some huge news on the recruiting front.

According to Bulls 247, 4-star wide receiver prospect D'vario Montgomery (6-3 215-pounds) out of Winter Park High School, has committed to USF!!!

Montgomery emerged on the scene last year in the USF Sling n' Shoot 7 on 7 camp, getting the first offer from USF in their 2012 recruiting class.

Montgomery was having a big season for Winter Park as a wide receiver and the primary kick returner, but was suspended for 6-weeks after he allegedly cursed at an official during a game, although he denies the allegations.

Here are some of his highlights from his junior season. He is a big time talent with great speed and uses his frame well, this could be huge for USF.

This is a big time pick-up for Holtz and staff. With the losing season in hand and word that other commits could be wavering, adding a big time player like this not only helps the team down the road, but also may convince other commits to stay with USF.

Going into next year (if everyone signs LOI, stays healthy, no transfers, etc.) the Bulls could have one of the most dynamic receiving corps in the program history. Sterling Griffin, Andre Davis, Deonte Welch, Ruben Gonzalez, Evan Landi, and transfer Chris Dunkley could all be part of the team with Montgomery, giving the offense all sorts of weapons on the field.
