After an ugly loss to Dayton yesterday (dropped game 63 to 73) the USF ladies, 7-6, will try to salvage a win in New Jersey as they take on Saint Peter's in the second round of the Saint Peter's at 5PM. This is a key game for the ladies as they try to correct their mistakes and get more consistency from everyone before the start of conference play.
Saint Peters (0-10) lost yesterday to Binghamton and would like to get their first win of the season as the Bulls expense. Here are the key players for Saint Peter's.
Saint Peter's is led by senior forward Jynae Judson (5-9) who is averaging 16.7 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game (has played in just 6 games so far). Sophomore guard Aziza May (5-3) is averaging 7.9 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, and 4.3 rebounds per game, running the offense for the Peahens (um, ok).
Junior forward Kristal Edwards (5-11) is averaging 5.6 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game. Senior guard Aminah Davis (5-5) is averaging 5.8 points per game (33% from 3-point range) and 2.1 rebounds per game. Junior forward Jesika Holmes (6-0) is averaging 4.8 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. She will battle McDonald and Rowe in the paint. Senior forward/center Quiana Porter (6-2) is averaging 5.8 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. Senior forward Lauren Morris (5-9) is averaging 4.4 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game.
The Bulls really need a win here and facing an 0-10 team could be a perfect match, but the Peahens are at home and will battle in this game. USF has the size advantage and with the up-tempo they can run and the depth of the guards for USF, the Bulls should come away with a win here.
