USF 2012 Baseball: Trey Dahl

Trey Dahl - 6-0 175-pounds - Junior - LHP

Trey Dahl returns for his junior season after pitching just a handful of innings last season. He worked 6.2 innings, allowing 9 hits, 8 runs, walking 3 and striking out 2 and earning a record of 0-1 (had an 8.10 ERA as well). He allowed opponents to hit .321, something he has to lower this season.

In 2010, Dahl worked 11.1 innings, allowing 13 hits, 8 runs, while walking 6 and striking out 12 batters, showing his potential to get hitters out but living in the strike zone. He had 2 saves while holding opponents to a .283 batting average and an ERA of 5.56 during the season.

Dahl has the stuff to get hitters out, but has to be more effective in the strike zone. If he can find his command, he will make a major impact this season. He had two saves in 2010, so he has the potential to be the closer this season, if he can get hitters out and not allow so many hits.
