The Bulls, 11-8 (4-2), hit the road hoping to continue their recent streak of great play. They will face DePaul, 10-8 (1-5), who is 6-4 at home this season. Last year, USF beat DePaul in both games they played, once in DePaul and once in Tampa. In the final game, in DePaul, Augustus Gilchrist went off for 32 points, so expect the Blue Demons to lock him down on defense during this big game for both teams (game scheduled for 2PM).
DePaul is led by star sophomore forward Cleveland Melvin (6-8 205-pounds). He is averaging 18.1 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game, posing a real threat against the Bulls. Sophomore guard Brandon Young (6-3 195-pounds) is averaging 16.8 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists per game and leads the team with 32 steals. He is an excellent shooter, a great distributor with the ball, and gets after people on defense (heads up to Collins!).
Senior guard Jeremiah Kelly (6-0 166-pounds) is averaging 9.3 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, and 3.8 assists per game, setting more offense with Young on the court. Senior center Krys Faber (6-10 258-pounds) is averaging 4.9 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game, crashing the boards for the Demons and posing a real issue for USF inside the paint.
Sophomore forward Moses Morgan (6-6 218-pounds) is averaging 8.6 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game. Junior guard Worrel Clahar (5-11 179-pounds) is averaging 5.9 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game off the bench. Freshman forward Jamee Crockett (6-4 202-pounds) is averaging 5.7 points per a game and 1.9 rebounds per game. Finally, freshman guard Charles McKinney (6-3 182-pounds) is averaging 3.9 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game.
This is another key game for the Bulls. They come into the game with a winning record in league play, but no game on the road is easy. DePaul has 10 wins, more than last year and plays well at home. With Melvin and Young on the floor, they pose some match-up issues for USF. The Bulls have to come out fast and strong in this game, not allowing DePaul to get the lead early.
