USF to Face UCF on Sunday

Dom Dwyer needs you and company to pack Corbett on Sunday night!

Last night, the Bulls learned who their opponent would be for the highly anticipated soccer match on Sunday evening, the UCF Knights.

The Knights won in double overtime over Florida Gulf Coast, sending them to the next round.

The Bulls lost to UCF last year in the NCAA tournament, dropping the game 3-0 in the contest. USF, 12-3-3, will look to repay the favor in this game as they try to make a deep run in the tournament.

Everyone needs to get to this game, bring your roommate, your cousin, your third cousin's grandma, bring everyone. With help from the Tampa Sports Commission, admission is FREE for the game! Yes, fans can attend the game for free, so Corbett should be rocking! There will be a student tailgate before the game and the first 500 children to enter the game get a mini-soccer ball. Weather should be incredible for the game, so we encourage the entire city (probably not possible, but oh well) to pack Corbett!!

USF Soccer Takes on Louisville

The USF Bulls, fresh off of a huge comeback win against Syracuse on Saturday night, face a huge test as they take on the Louisville Cardinals (game starts at 7PM).

USF is 9-2-2 (4-0-1) on the season, leading the Red Division and takes on a Louisville team that enters the night at 8-4-1 (1-3-1), including 5-1-1 at home on the season. The Cardinals are a tough team, so the Bulls will be facing a tough test if they want to keep the winning streak going and stay ahead in the Big East race.

USF Soccer Takes on Syracuse

The USF soccer team, 8-2-2 (3-0-1) is sitting in first place and will look to add to its win total when it hits the road to take on Big East foe Syracuse.

The Orange are 2-8-2 (0-3-1) and just 2-3-0 at home this season. They lost their last home match to St. John's 1 to 2 and will be looking for the big upset win. Dom Dwyer and his 11 goals will try to keep the winning streak going and take them down (game starts at 7PM).

USF Soccer Takes on Syracuse

The USF ladies are facing a do or die situation as they hit the road to take on Big East opponent Syracuse tonight (game starts at 7PM).  The Bulls, 5-6-4 (1-4-3), are sitting in the bottom of the conference and will have to win their remaining games and get some help if they want to make it to the Big East tournament.  This team has played a lot of close games but has not been able to seal the deal at end.  The ladies are 0-2-2 away from Corbett this season, so they face an uphill battle with the Orange.  Syracuse is 6-5-3 (5-3-0) this season, including a 2-1 record at home, so the pressure is on for this game. 

USF Opens New Stadium With Victory Over UTampa

Yes, it was just an exhibition game, but that didn't steal anything away from the excitement of seeing the first game in USF's brand new soccer stadium against the Bulls' crosstown rivals, the University of Tampa Spartans. The battle for the Rowdies Cup got delayed from its original 7:30 start due to rain, but the weather subsided shortly and the game kicked off at about 8:20. Both teams started off slowly, but USF scored a 37th minute goal by T.J. Roehn. The first half was also highlighted by a UT yellow card in the 31st minute and a USF yellow card in the 40th. After the half, South Florida scored in the 64th minute on a Dom Dwyer strike to open a 2-0 lead. UT's Domonic Cutrofello cut the lead.by scoring in the 69th minute, but that was the last we would hear from the Spartans. The game ended 2-1 and the speakers played the USF fight song, telling Bulls fans that USF sports season was finally back.

The stadium itself was outstanding. It was reminiscent of the new baseball stadium, but is built very well for soccer. The stands make any seat in the place a good one, and the sections are tiered for more comfortable seating. Tickets that are bought have actual chairs, while general admission tickets have their choice of the grass behind the goals or the silver bleachers to either side. All in all, the new soccer stadium gets an A from me.

The Men's team opens the regular season at Wake Forest on Saturday and play their first regular season home game against Georgia State on Friday. The ladies open their regular season on Friday against Indiana at 7:30 p.m.
