As we enjoy the USF sporting events that are happening, we must not forget 9-11. It is so hard to believe that is happened 10 years ago today, we must never forget this day.
My parents told me it is one of those days that will be forever etched in your memory and they are right. I was personally sitting in class my freshman year in high school when my teacher came running out of her office and said the WTC had been hit by a plane. At first, I couldn't figure out what had happened, had it been a small plan, an accident, no one knew what happened at that stage. Rumors swirled during lunch as pieces of information began to come together. I remember getting home, sitting in front of the TV for hours, watching the planes, the towers, and the people, tears rolling down my face. My stomach hurt and I felt despair and anger to the levels I have never felt before.
As we continue work today, watch games, etc. remember this day. Our prayers to those lost, those who lost someone, and to those who raced to the scene to help during that tragic day. We thank the troops for keeping us safe and allow us to be free. God Bless America.
