Five Reasons USF can Win or Lose to UCONN

Here are 5 reasons USF will win or could lose this game to UCONN. After two weeks, the team returns to the field, but can they erase the nightmare that was Pitt and get back to winning? We will have to see.

5 reasons USF will win this game

B.J. Daniels - The Huskies rush defense is good, but the pass defense continues to kill them. If Daniels can execute, find his playmakers and the receivers run the precise routes, they could have a big day throwing all over the Huskies.

Darrell Scott - The Huskies stop the run, but they haven't met Scott yet. The big man leads the team in rushing, showing power up the middle and speed on the outside (jumps over people too). He will have to establish some consistency to get the pressure off the pass game and control the ball

Defensive speed - The Bulls defense got run over two weeks ago, but coming out against UCONN and their slower pace, the speed of the defense should be able to swarm to the ball and take care of business in this game.

Two weeks - For two weeks, the teams has been waiting to redeem themselves and should come out motivated after dropping from the rankings. The team needs to prove to people they can been consistent and finish games off.

Lindsey Lamar - Lamar has been quiet in the return game so far, but has been more involved in the pass and running game for the Bulls. If the Huskies stack the box to take away the power running game, look for Lamar to get the ball in space where his speed can do the damage.

B.J. Daniels - Have we done this before? Yes, Daniels is on the list again and we continue to watch his progression in the offense. The team is moving the ball, but against Pitt didn't finish and execute well. If they do it again, it could be another frustrating afternoon.

Hangover - The team has been sitting for two weeks, still dwelling on the loss on Thursday night. If they continue to play like they did at Pitt, not learning from the mistakes and getting better, the team could come out flat and not get the job done.

Running game of UCONN - Ray Graham ran over, through, and around the USF defense. If McCombs and others for UCONN have anything close to Graham's success it could be another long day. The Bulls have to step it up on defense to get the win.

Field goal kicking - It hurts, but UCONN and field goal kicking have dealt the Bulls tough losses over the past two seasons and if the game is close again (minus the snow) the ghosts of field goals past will continue to haunt this team.

Slide - We all have seen it, talked about it, and don't want to relive it, the slide. It has become somewhat of a tradition for the Bulls to start the season well and fade away late in the year. The team needs to come out and make sure they don't start the fade.
