It is time for our weekly Big East picks. Last weekend, Mike continued to lead the way, but I made a come back while Jim had a rough time getting the right picks. Right now, Mike is 31-6, Matt is 28-9, while Jim sits at 26-11. Let's see what we can do here.
Louisville at UNC
Matt: Last week, Louisville lost at home to Marshall, there is no excuse for that. How did they lose that game? They are facing a solid road team in UNC that plays great defense and will make it a low scoring game and Rutgers won't have anything to show. Pick: UNC
Mike: If you can't beat Marshall at your own home, you're not getting any love from me. I thought Rutgers was bad, and they lost to UNC. I severely overestimated Louisville this year, so I'm playing it smart and going with North Carolina.
Jim: At the beginning of the season, I said Louisville was my dark horse to win the Big East... but, now, it looks like they're just playing in the dark. Absolutely little faith in the Cards at this point, especially after their loss to Marshall. Pick: UNCMatt: UCONN lost at home to Western Michigan so they can't be that good. WVU is the only Big East team ranked right now and playing at home with their offense will be too much for the Huskies to handle. Pick: WVU
Mike: USF fans can sit at home this weekend and hope for a UConn win to put us back in Big East hopes, but realistically, the Huskies aren't going far against West Virginia. This is the first stop on the Big East's revenge tour to unleash their fury on Connecticut for embarrassing us in the BCS picture. I'll go with the Mountaineers AND the 20.5-point spread.
Jim: I'm skipping a family member's wedding for this one. WVU will make it worth all the sh*t I put up with from relatives. Pick: WVUPitt at Rutgers
Matt: After the show that the Panthers put on last week, I hope they continue to roll so I know it just wasn't our defense being that bad. Rutgers can hardly score, so Pitt should win this game, but expect it to be closer than most think. Pick: Pitt
Mike: As much as I'd wish for Pitt to get killed in a conference game, RU won't be the ones to do it. We'll have to wait until next week I guess. I'm picking Pitt.
Jim: Ugh... it's obvious who's going to win this one. It's not Buttgers. Pick: Pitt
Syracuse at Tulane
Matt: Seriously, who schedules the games for the Orange? At USC and now at Tulane? The Orange continue to look bad due to injuries and continue to annoy people who pick them to win. I will go with the Orange here, but not very confident in that group. Pick: Syracuse
Mike: I really, really want to pick Tulane for this game after two bad games for Syracuse. But the Wave has gotten killed by Army and Duke in consecutive weeks, so I think even the lowly Orange can make the Big East/ACC proud against a C-USA team.
Jim: So while everyone else is starting, or has already started, conference play; Syracuse is going to Tulane? C'mon, man! Pick: Syracuse
