USF Ladies Soccer Takes on UCONN

The USF women's soccer team has become an overtime machine. The Bulls have played into overtime the last 7 games and are hoping to win in regulation this time as they host Big East foe UCONN (game starts at 7PM).

The ladies enter the night at 5-4-4 (1-2-3) but are 5-2-2 at home this season, so Corbett Field continues to help them out. The Huskies are 5-5-2 (2-2-2) on the season, including 2-3 on the road this season, so USF has the advantage here.

UCONN is led by junior forward Danielle Schulmann (5-3). She has 7 goals on the season, taking 39 shots so far (Molly Stack and defensive back line will have to watch her the entire match). Sophomore midfielder Devin Prendergast (5-5) has 3 goals and 1 assist on the season (has 26 shots so far, so another striker the Bulls will have to watch out for).

Freshman midfielder Riley Houle (5-1) has 2 goals and 1 assists (mixture of youth and senior leadership on the Huskies team). Senior forward Jessica Schuelft (5-7) has 1 goal on the season and 3 assists. Junior midfielder Karen Gurnon (5-6) and senior midfielder Jennifer Skogerboe (5-6) both have taken 4 shots on the season and help set up the offense from the middle of the field (play solid defense as well).

Senior Jessica Dulski (5-7) is the goalkeeper. She has allowed 15 goals this season (1.20 per game) so Stokes, Klotz, and Patterson should be able to get something going on offense. Dulski has made 54 saves (.783) and has 3 shutouts as well. Making 54 saves is great, but it also shows that the defense line gives up a ton of shots so the USF ladies should be able to fire away. Look for Stokes and Klotz to fire away in this game.

The Bulls need the USF faithful to pack the stadium and cheer them on! This is a big game for the ladies as they try to get back to winning and try to end a game in regulation.
