The USF Bulls honored 11 seniors today, but were not able to get the win in the process.
Providence got the board first in the second half while both teams struggled to get anything going on offense. Gina Pacheco had the best chance of the afternoon in the 85th minute, but was not able to complete and the Bulls drop another close and heartbreaking game.
This was a rough loss for the Bulls. They wanted to get this game at home, not only to honor the 11 seniors, but also to keep pace in the Big East. The Bulls are now 5-6-4 (1-4-3) and are seeing their chances of making it to the postseason slip away each time they tie or take another tough loss.
Enough cannot be said for the seniors that played their final home game today for coach Denise Schilte-Brown. This senior class has had years to success and has laid a great foundation for the future of the program. Thanks goes to the class and everything they have done.
The ladies will try to get it back together when they take on Syracuse on Friday night. Let's hope they can come back after this game.
