USF Soccer Falls to Creighton in OT

The 2011 soccer season came to an end today as the men fell to Creighton in OT, 0 to 1, ending their run through the NCAA tournament in the Elite 8 round.

The game was delayed yesterday due to snow, but they were able to get it underway as the snow continued to fall. USF had chances early, but bad offsides calls and a few goals were called back as USF battled the refs in the game and questionable plays by Creighton (were flopping all over the field, it was beyond obvious).

Leston Paul had 2 shots on the day and Dom Dwyer had 3 shots, but they were not able to find the net the entire game as their shots went wide and Creighton played outstanding defense on the day. Chris Blais had 3 huge saves during the game, but could not come up with the last one in OT, ending the USF season at 13-4-4.

The Bulls played hard and we should be proud of them for their accomplishment. They got further than anyone could have imagined, battled in every game, and showed that they are among the best in the nation. The future is bright for USF and they will be back next year and will look to do even more damage.
