The USF ladies, 6-4, beat Air Force 73 to 70 in the second game of the Air Force classic, wrapping up their road trip at 1-1. The Bulls were down early in the game to begin again as the Falcons came out firing and USF was cold. The Bulls chipped away, going into the half by 6 points. Fernandez fired up his team at the half and they came back to win the game.
Andrell Smith had 12 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists on the night. Jasmine Wynne had 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kaneisha Saunders had 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 steals. Caitlin Rowe had 5 points and 6 rebounds, a much better game after he scoreless performance against Idaho State. Akila McDonald had 9 points and 6 rebounds as USF took care of business in the paint. Tiffany Conner had 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and had 8 steals as the speed of USF was too much for the Falcons to handle in the second half as the Bulls pressured and took the led. Shalethia Stringfield had 6 points and 2 assists off the bench as well.
The Bulls will take this win into their break as student athletes begin finals week starting Monday. The Bulls will next take on Auburn on the road on the 14th at 7PM.
