USF 2012 Baseball: Ray Delphey

Ray Delphey - 5-10 200-pounds - RHP

Delphey returns to the USF pitching staff after missing the entire 2011 do to surgery.  He is back throwing and should be close to full health, but Prado will work him back into the rotation slowly.  He is a key member of the team that Prado will have to rely on this season to bring experience to the rotation.

In 2010, Delphey pitched 16 innings, allowing 16 hits, 15 runs, while walking 12 and striking out 20 batters, living in the strike zone. He finished with a record of 1-3, an ERA of 6.19, and allowed batters to hit .259 against him, numbers he will look to improve now that he is healthy and throwing again for the Bulls.  With Randy Fontanez gone, Prado will need Delphey to return and rejoin the rotation that is missing a big arm.
