Know They Enemy: Seton Hall Edition

The USF Bulls are coming off of an 11-point loss to Notre Dame on the road and return home to take on Seton Hall on Friday. In order to get a better take on what the Bulls will be facing when the Pirates come to town, I asked my friend Colleen from the Volvo Big East Fan Challenge for some inside information (make sure to check out her site HERE).

1. Seton Hall is playing great basketball this season after finishing last year at just at 13-18. What has been the biggest difference this season compared to last year?

The biggest difference is a consistent defense.

2. Herb Pope is playing at a very high level, averaging double digit points and making his presence known in the paint. He averaged just under 10 points last year, so what has been the biggest reason for his change in play?

Herb Pope is finally 100% healthy this season after recovering from his heart scare last year.

3. Jordan Theodore is dishing out assists left and right and averaging double digits. Just how good is he and how can USF slow him down?

Theodore is one of the top point guards in the Big East. USF would have to contain him on the outside and force him to take unnecessary shots.

4. How did you feel after beating UCONN a few games ago? USF was able to push them, but the Pirates were able to seal the deal.

That was the signature win of the Kevin Willard era so far as the Pirates hadn't beaten UCONN in 11 years. The Pirate fans were used to the team blowing those leads. To watch them close the door on UCONN was a sign of change.

5. What is your final score prediction for this game?

Seton Hall will control the pace and beat USF 82-71.
