The USF ladies, fresh off their big road win against Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon, return home to take on the DePaul Demons (21st ranked in the AP poll/19th ranked in Coaches poll). USF is 10-8 (2-2) now but once again will be facing a tough ranked team in DePaul. The Blue Demons are 15-3 (3-1) on the season, including 5-1 on the road while averaging 72 points per game. The ladies will have to execute their offense perfectly if they want to try for the upset win (game is scheduled for 7PM at the Rec Center).
The Demons are led by junior guard Anna Martin (5-9). She leads the team with 19 points per game (shooting 46% from 3-point range) while pulling down 3.6 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, and leads the team with 33 steals. Senior forward Keisha Hampton (6-2) is averaging 16.6 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Freshman guard Brittany Hrynko (5-8) is averaging 10.7 points per game and 4 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Jasmine Penny (6-1) is averaging 10.3 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game, giving the Demons a strong front line with Hampton that will battle with Rowe and company in the paint. Junior forward Katherine Harry (6-3) is averaging 8.1 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game, adding another key member to the Demon front line.
Senior guard Deanna Ortiz (5-10) is averaging 3.9 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Megan Rogowski (5-9) is averaging 6.6 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game (big time bench threat). Sophomore guard Kelsey Reynolds (5-7) is averaging 4.4 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game.
The Bulls finally got a commanding win over Seton Hall on Saturday after two tough losses to rank teams, Louisville and Georgetown. In both those games, the ladies hung tough but failed to close out the games late. The Bulls will need to have all their stars on point in this game. Wynne, Orekhova, Rowe and others have to play a solid game if they want to pull the big upset.
