USF WBB Takes on Louisville

After a tough loss to Georgetown, the USF ladies, 9-7 (1-1), hit the road to take on another ranked team in the Louisville Cardinals (ranked 16th according to USA Today). The Cardinals, 13-3 (2-1), are 6-0 at home this season while averaging 74 points per game. They are coming off of a strong win over St. Johns (won 72 to 64) and will look to keep it going in front of the home crowd. The Bulls, coming off of that 56 to 66 loss, are hoping that the duo of Orekhova and Wynne can answer the call.

The USF ladies, 9-6 (1-0), got off to a great start in conference play with a come from behind win on the road over Cincinnati to notch their first win of conference play. USF got a lot of help scoring on the board, led once again by Jasmine Wynne. The ladies return home to take on Georgetown in game two of the Big East schedule.

Georgetown is 12-3 (0-1) dropping their last game to DePaul 50 to 59 and will be looking for their first conference win of the season (game starts at 7PM in the Rec Center).

The 2011-2012 season has gotten off to a solid start for Coach Fernandez and his team. After coming off of a 12-19 disappointing season last year, the Bulls are 6-4, half way to last years win total. They have done it without last seasons leading scorer Andrea Smith who continues to recover from ACL surgery and without newcomer Inga Orekhova, who is one of the highest ranked recruits in program history. So what has been the difference this season for USF? The real game changer for USF has been the play of senior guard Jasmine Wynne.
