USF WBB Takes on Georgetown

Jasmine Wynne has lead the scoring load for USF this season, but another top shooter is finally set to join her on the floor (Picture: www.gousfbulls.com)
The USF ladies, 9-6 (1-0), got off to a great start in conference play with a come from behind win on the road over Cincinnati to notch their first win of conference play. USF got a lot of help scoring on the board, led once again by Jasmine Wynne. The ladies return home to take on Georgetown in game two of the Big East schedule.

Georgetown is 12-3 (0-1) dropping their last game to DePaul 50 to 59 and will be looking for their first conference win of the season (game starts at 7PM in the Rec Center).

The Hoyas are led by junior guard Sugar Rodgers (5-11) (how sweet is her game? It had to be asked). She leads the Hoyas with 20.7 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game, so the Bulls will have to slow her down to keep the game close. Senior forward Tia Magee (6-2) is averaging 11.4 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game, creating a tough battle in the paint against Rowe and McDonald.

Senior guard Rubylee Wright (5-3) is averaging 6.5 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, and leads the way with 4.6 assists per game. Freshman guard Taylor Brown (5-7) is averaging 6.1 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game. Senior center Sydney Wilson (6-6) is averaging 3.3 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game. With Wilson in the paint, it will be one of the few games that an opponent has a player taller than the USF team.

Senior guard Alexa Roche (6-0) is averaging 5.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Senior forward Adria Crawford (6-1) is averaging 3.9 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. Senior forward Tommacina McBride (6-1) is averaging 1.7 points per game and 1.3 rebounds per game, but gives the Hoyas plenty of size and depth off the bench.

USF could get a huge scoring boost in this game as junior guard Inga Orekhova (6-2) joins the roster (sat out first 15 games of the season). Last season, she averaged 19.2 points per game, 22nd in the nation in the junior college ranks and was once rated the 40th ranked recruit in the country. Orekhova could help add a tremendous amount of offense that is lacking for the Bulls without Andrea Smith (officially took the medical redshirt) in the lineup and take some of the burden off of Jasmine Wynne. Expect a close game but USF is nearly unstoppable at home and will look to keep it going.
