From Greg Auman - The Bulls continue to put together a solid recruiting class as they have received a verbal commitment from wide receiver Ruben Gonzalez out of Robinson High School here in Tampa.
Gonzalez, 6'3" 200-pounds, is a big receiver that is being recruited as an "athlete," he can play either wide receiver or defensive back (3-star recruit). He is has a big frame and impressive speed, 4.61 in the 40 yard dash (Rivals.com). He also have offers from Purdue, Minnesota, and Iowa State, among others.
This is the second local commit to USF in the last week, joining wide receiver Andre Davis. Holtz originally stated he wanted to put up a wall around the area and keep the local prospects close to home and he seems to be doing an excellent job so far. This is a huge commit for USF as they reload the skill position on offense and build a solid foundation for the future.
