The Bulls defense was led by the senior class that displayed leadership both on and off the field. One of the many great leaders was linebacker Sabbath Joseph. Joseph, came into the season as a starter, but took a step back on the depth chart for freshman DeDe Lattimore when coaches asked him. Even with reduced playing time, Joseph continued to be one of the great leaders for the team in 2010. [keep reading]

Joseph started the 2010 season as one of the veteran linebackers in the middle of the field for Mark Snyder and Skip Holtz. At 5'11" 235-pounds, the senior out of Miami had proven over the past few years to be a great playmaker. In 2009, he totaled 50 tackles, including 4 tackles for a loss, 4 pass break ups, and caused 4 forced fumbles. As the season began, Joseph played well but a freshman, DeDe Lattimore exploded onto the scene and began taking some snaps from Joseph.

Both players played the same position and because of the playmaking ability of Lattimore, coaches asked Joseph about reduced playing time and playing as a reserve role as the season rolled on. Most players would not be excited about this, but Joseph took it in stride. Joseph took on his new role extremely well, playing well when on the field and helping to teach the young linebacker as he begins his USF career.

It was a shame that Joseph wasn't able to play in the Meineke Bowl game for the Bulls, but Joseph left his impression on the team this season. He was a voice on the sidelines, teaching the younger players and making the most of every snap in his senior season. Now as he begins his journey to the NFL, the players on the active roster need to be grateful for everything Joseph did for the Bulls this season.
