The USF ladies are back in action, but once again they are on the road facing a tough opponent in West Virginia. The Bulls are in free fall right now, 9-10 (0-5) and still looking for their first conference win of the season. After several years of postseason tournaments, it appears the Bulls will be at home this Spring.
Andrea Smith has to lead the way for the Bulls in this one as they take on #7 WVU. Smith has been the leader on the Bulls, taking over as the lead scorer. Porsche Grant has been solid inside along with Leondra Doomes-Stephens, but it probably won't be enough on the road for the ladies they hit another buzz saw in the Big East. Both basketball programs are taking on WVU this weekend, but both don't appear ready to leave Morgantown with a W.
I am being a bit harsh on the ladies, but the team is struggling and even Coach Jose Fernandez vented his frustration in his last press conference saying the team works so hard and prepares so well, it is disappointing to continue to loses games and see the reaction of the players after a loss. This is what happens when you face the best basketball conference in the country coach. Fernandez has done a great job in his tenure at USF, but this season is just not his year. His team is not as loaded at it has been with Jessica Dickson and Shantia Grace, but the Bulls will fight on.
