Recruiting Update

Coach Skip Holtz and staff are busy trying to get the last few star recruits to commit to USF.
The Bulls have several recruits still on the radar before signing day officially hits. Here is the latest news on some of the top prospects the Bulls are still after (from Rivals and Scout). [keep reading to find out the latest on the top prospects the Bulls are targeting]

Joshua Grady (6'1" 192-pound) Athlete/Quarterback

Grady is a prized prospect by nearby Armwood High School. Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are recruiting him heavily as a quarterback (also has the high academics to go with them). USF projects him as a safety and Coach Holtz is reportedly visiting Grady today (from Josh Newberg). Grady will make his announcement next Wednesday 2nd (from Greg Auman) on his decision. It is hard to tell where he will be headed, but USF is a strong candidate.

Rashawn Scott (6'2" 198-pounds) Wide Receiver

News broke last night that Scott is now committed to Miami (Rivals). Coach Golden is on a role now as he brings in another fast receiver. This is sort of surprising because it appeared that USF was a favorite for him, but he decided on his official visit to become a Cane. The Bulls have solid receivers coming in (Davis, Gonzalez, and Mut), but this could have been a big signing for the Bulls.

Devin Clarke (5'10" 165-pounds) Wide Receiver

The fast wide receiver recently visited USF and raved about his visit and had the Bulls as his favorite. But according to Greg Auman, he won't be coming to USF due to his academic issues. He may have to go to a Junior College at this point if he wants to transfer to USF in a few years. This is sad to see because he would be a big time weapon for the Bulls, but school always comes first.

David Reeves (6'6" 250-pounds) Tight End

Reeves is a big tight end and an excellent receiver (great route running). He has multiple schools he is looking at, but has USF high on his list. He is expected to make his decision on signing day and USF could be in the running. Reeves would give the Bulls a big time pass catching target and help fill a need position as well.

Tevin Westbrook (6'5" 260-pounds) Defensive End

Westbrook is a big time defensive end that has a huge frame and great explosion off the line. His recruiting is really starting to heat up with UF and Miami talking to him as well. USF is a very strong candidate and would make a great addition to the defensive line depth if he did commit. He will probably wait for signing day to make anything official, but USF should be one of hats on the table when he finally decides.

That is the latest on the top prospects the Bulls are targeting. What do you think? Are there other names out there or do you have an inside scoop on something? Leave your comments, questions, or just random thoughts.
