Bulls Fall in Opener to Gators

The first of many baseball reports, the Bulls lost tonight to the #1 ranked Gators in Gainesville, 7 to 2. Randy Fontanez held up early in the game but faltered late, pitching only 4.2 innings, giving up 9 hits, 6 runs including 1 homerun as the loaded Gator lineup found its swing early and struck the Bulls hard before they had a chance.

Doug Wagner struggled in relief as well giving up 3 hits, 2 walks, and 1 run in just 1.1 innings of work.

The offense struggled til late in the game. James Ramsay hit his first homerun, going 1 for 4. Todd Brazeal had a solid night, going 3 for 4, but there was no one on base to drive in.

Barbosa takes the hill tomorrow as the Bulls hope to rebound and get a much needed win early in the season.
