From www.gousfbulls.com - As the Bulls prepare to take on Bethune-Cookman this evening, the team received devastating news today.

Senior pitcher Andrew Barbosa will miss the rest of the season after having successful Tommy John surgery Thursday morning.

Barbosa was 0-1 this season, but had 13 strikeouts in just two starts and was the Bulls number 2 pitcher, behind Fontanez. The former walk-on has been out for nearly a month now after leaving with a forearm injury, but now it is clear the injury was much more severe than any fan could have predicted.

Barbosa was 8-2 last season and was picked as a Pre-Season All-Big East Selection.

This is bad news for the team that is already down another pitcher, Junior Carlin, who left the game against UCF with an apparent shoulder injury. The Bulls are now thin at pitcher and will have to find a way to put healthy arms on the mound if they want to stay in contention this year for the Big East title.
