What grade does Toarlyn Fitzpatrick get? |
The grades continue and this time it is time to grade one of the big men for USF, sophomore forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick had a solid season for the Bulls, both coming off of the bench and starting in a few games for Coach Heath. Fitzpatrick is a big body that can dominate the paint and work on the baseline as well. He seemed to disappear late in the season, but still put in a solid effort during the season. Time to take a closer look at Fitzpatrick's year. [keep reading]
Fitzpatrick (6'8" 240-pounds) had a solid year, both off of the bench and starting in several games as well. He averaged 4.1 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Fitzpatrick plays primarily in the paint, keeping his back to the bucket and backing down defenders, either finishing strong at the hoop or going with a small fade away hook. He has very limited range, but will pull up outside the paint once in awhile, but does not have a polished shot.
On defense, Fitzpatrick is able to dominate the paint with his size. He is very athletic and can match up with athletic forwards, keeping the ball handler in front of him by using his size and altering shots with his height. He is very physical and is one of the most consistent rebounders for the Bulls. He came up big in the Villanova upset with just his size and should be a solid contributor text season.
Final grade: C
Solid.
ReplyDeleteHe is, he needs to step up more next year though.
