USF Basebal Taking on Seton Hall Tonight

USF baseball is back in action this evening as they begin a 3 game set against Big East foe Seton Hall.

The Bulls are 15-17 (5-4) on the season and hoping to get over .500 this weekend and improve in the conference standings.

The key to this series will be the hitting for the Bulls. The pitching has been solid and should continue to play well, but the timely hitting will be needed against a Seton Hall team that is trying to improve in conference play as well.

Jonathan Koscso is hitting .341 on the season and is the only Bulls hitting over .300 at the moment. Since being inserted into the leadoff spot, his average has increased as he continues to get on base and battle opposing pitchers. Sam Mende, hitting .295 and Jimmy Falla, hitting .292, will have to get going early and get some runs against Seton Hall.

Seton Hall has their own group of dangerous hitters as well. Dale Anderson is hitting .358 and the rest of the Pirate hitters are all solid, making it a bit hard for the Bulls starting pitching and relievers.

The Bulls really need to sweep this series. The team has been winning 2 of 3 against the last few opponents, but this is not going to help them get over .500 on the season and they will have tough game against Stetson next Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7 PM tonight.

  1. It's Dale Anderson. And Seton Hall has starters hitting .217, .181 and .181, so they're not really all solid.

  2. Not like USF is tearing the cover off the baseball either, not going to be an easy series for them

  3. USF should get a chance to get over .500 for the season this weekend though. Seton Hall is not good at anything but I think soccer

  5. If USF plays like they did against Rutgers, they should definitely take home a win.
