Big East Releases Conference Schedules

Today around 12:10, the Big East Conference website officially released the home and away slates for all Big East teams. Needless to say, no matter what the schedule looks like, it's probably going to be a rough season for the Bulls. 91% of games that will be played this season will contain at least one team that appeared in last season's NCAA tournament, and 47% of the games contain two. Each team has three opponents that whey will play twice in the regular season, accounting for 18 conference games.

USF's schedule looks the same as it does every year: hard. In addition to playing Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Georgetown all on the road, they'll also be burdened with the task of playing Pittsburgh and Villanova twice. USF has two opponents who are typically wins in DePaul and Providence, and they'll play three games against those teams(two against Providence). Two of those three games, however, are on the road as well. At home (wherever that may be this year), the Bulls will have the pleasure of hosting NCAA champion Connecticut, West Virginia, and St. John's. Overall, the home schedule could be worse, as they'll have a few toss-up games against "meh" teams like Seton Hall and Rutgers, games in which they may be able to patch up the rough spots that kept them out of the win column last year.

Needless to say, it won't be an easy run for USF, as it never is in this league, but hopefully they'll see a bit more success than they did last season. For the whole Big East slate, you can view the Big East website here. USF's home and away opponents are listed below, but dates have not been set.

Home: Cincinnati, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rutgers, St. John's, Seton Hall, Villanova, West Virginia

Away: DePaul, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Providence, Syracuse, Villanova
