The USF ladies 2011 season got off to a rough start last night as they dropped the first game to #24 UCF 1 to 5 as they begin 0-1 to start the season.
The Bulls were simply off all night and didn't do anything until the second half. Down 3 to 0 in the first half, it was bleak and a lone goal in the second half did nothing for the Bulls.
Taylor Patterson had 1 shot on the night. Noelle Pineiro had 4 shots on the night, including 2 on goal. Demi Stoke had 4 shots as well, including 2 on goal, and put together the lone scoring drive with an assist. Chelsea Klotz was a late substitution in the game for coach Denise Schilte-Brown (no sure why she didn't star the game). She had 3 shots on the night and scored the lone goal for USF.
Nicole McClure had a rough night in the goal. She played all 90 minutes (game was partially delayed by lightning to start) and made 7 stops for USF, but giving up 5 goals is rough for the team to start the 2011 season. The defense looked rough and the Bulls just were simply overmatched in this one.
The Bulls will have a week to figure out what went wrong before they take on Indiana on the 26th at home to open the home portion of the schedule.
