Don't Sleep on this FAMU Game

The Bulls have to remain focused even when facing FAMU.

It might be easy to overlook the FAMU game, I'm sure there are some fans that don't consider it much of a game, but that is where people are wrong.

FAMU poses a real threat and will do everything they can to get the win against USF on Saturday night.

Todd Fitch has mentioned the aggressive style of the FAMU defense, blitzing 70% of the time they are on the field. A defense that is sending extra defenders at B.J. Daniels could disrupt his timing and force him into bad situations. Daniels was able to handle the blitz against Ball State who blitzed 7 of the first 10 downs before dropping back into more pass-safe coverages because the success Daniels had picking up the blitz.

Can Daniels do this again and be successful against another hungry pass rush? We will have to wait and see, but if he makes mistakes and fires into coverage, turnovers could kill the team.

FAMU is the underdog, they know it, we all know it, but playing in their home state, against an in-state foe, they will be ready. The FAMU players will have a chip on their shoulders when they face off against their in-state foe and the team has to be ready for it.

USF has to treat every game as if it is the last one they will ever play. There are still areas to improve on and still areas that are a concern, so taking a mental break this Saturday could be a problem.

As fans, we need to pack the stadium and cheer the team on, giving the players the energy and focus they need to get the win and march on towards the bigger goal for this season.
