Inside the Big Offensive Night for USF

Sterling Griffin and company had a huge night on offense as the Bulls set all sorts of records.
USF put on a show last night, putting up offensive numbers that set records and had the FAMU team looking to get out of town fast.

The Bulls put up a record 745 yards of total offense, setting the USF record and setting the Big East record for most yards in a game (wonder how long Big East will stay alive). Facing an FCS team, the numbers are of course inflated, I would doubt USF would hang these numbers on WVU, but it is still worth noting (FAMU did nothing out there to get the offense off the field).

The Bulls set a school record with 477 passing yards, with Daniels firing away all night (more and more coming on him). The offense was moving like mad with Daniels reading the field and looking very comfortable with his reads and progressions. Eveld was not that solid, getting two interceptions against a bad secondary and feeling the blitz (more on him this week as well).

The rushing game was very dominate, getting 268 yards combined with Scott running over everyone as well. The Bulls got 39 first downs as well, another school record.

All of the numbers were great, but Holtz will agree that the 9 penalties by the team for 72 yards was ugly, sloppy play with personal fouls and a few bad reads by the defense, but it is something that can be fixed by the team heading down the road.

Overall, it was a huge win and a huge night for both sides of the ball as the Bulls prepare for UTEP on Saturday night.
