After a big time win over Wake Forest last week, the Bulls return home to kick off their new home stadium as they take on Georgia State.

Georgia State enters the game with a record of (1-0-0) (played Lipscomb to start the season). The Panthers of Georgia State finished the 2010 season at 7-7-3 (4-6-1 in conference) and were 3-4-2 away from home, so they are a solid team to contend with. They scored an average of just 1.29 goals per game but also held opponents to 1.53 goals per game, so scoring will be low in this contest (lower than usual soccer terms). Let's take a look at the players to watch during this game. (game starts at 7:30 PM so get to the stadium and cheer them on)

The Panthers are led by sophomore forward Evan Scott (5-10 178-pounds). In 2010, he played in 16 games, starting just 2 games, and scored 3 goals and added two assists. He will get a lot of playing time as the young team puts a lot of talent on the field. Senior forward Ayokunle Lumpkin (5-10 182-pounds) played in 15 games in 2010, scoring 3 goals and will be a leader on the field both in play and as a vocal leader. Junior midfielder Yasser Majluf (5-9 165-pounds) made 17 starts last season, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists to help anchor the middle of the field for Panthers. Freshman midfielder/defender Jordan Weise (6-1) has the lone goal for the Panthers on the season after coming in as a replacement in the first game.

Sophomore defender Michael Nwiloh (6-3 200-pounds) played in 15 games last season, scoring 1 goal and added 1 assist while playing solid defense for the Panthers. Junior midfielder Victor Nkhoma (5-7 144-pounds) played in 13 games last year, starting 3, and added 3 assists, moving well with the ball across the field. The goalkeeper is junior Vincent Foermer (6-1 172-pounds). he allowed 1.72 goals per game last season, making 84 stops, stopping .764 percent of shots on goal (went 7-7-3 for them during the season).

So what can we expect from this game? After a road game to open the season, the Bulls finally get to kick off their new stadium for a game that really counts towards their record and their pursuit for the NCAA tournament. The Bulls have a more talented and experienced roster. As long as they play to the level they should, move the ball, and allow Blais to lock it down in net, it should be a solid win for Kiefer as the #9 ranked Bulls (1-0-0) look to continue their impressive play.
