USF ties Notre Dame 1 to 1

In front of a packed stadium, the USF ladies tied the defending national champions Notre Dame 1 to 1.

On Fox Sports Channel (national audience) the Bulls were down early in the game as Notre Dame struck first in the 28th minute with a goal. USF had their chances, firing away all night. Chelsea Klotz had 6 shots, including 3 on goal, but nothing got through until the 86th minute. Valerie O'Brien got the Bulls on the board with a lone goal that sent the game into overtime. The Bulls and Irish battled through both overtimes and ended the contest with a tie.

USF is now 4-3-3 (0-1-2) on the season and will take on DePaul on Sunday at 1 PM in another big conference game as they try to pull even in the conference and get a much needed win after facing a tough opponent.

While the game ended in a tie, the Bulls, in front of the third largest crowd in USF women's soccer history, this is a big step for the team. Tying the defending champs and holding your own against a great ranked team is huge and if the Bulls are able to build some momentum from this game, they will have to look back at this outstanding effort.
