Key Match-ups for USF vs. Cincinnati

Here are some of the key match-ups to watch for during the game with Cincinnati. USF needs to get a win here and it is time for the big time players for USF to win their positions and take care of business. Here are the match-ups we will be watching during the game.

USF Offensive Line vs. Cincinnati Defensive Line

The Bulls are facing another solid defensive line with the Bearcats. They have two 300-pound tackles and two athletic defensive ends that will cause pressure and try to stop the run. USF will need to hit their assignments and allow Scott to carry the ball and keep it away from the Cincinnati offense.

Darrell Scott vs. LB J.K. Schaffer

Schaffer is one of the two linebackers that will stay in the box and come up in run support for the Cincinnati defense. Scott is the power back in the Bulls backfield and if they offensive line can get a few holes for him, he will try to power his way down the heart of their defense and right at Schaffer.

Evan Landi vs. CB Dominique Battle

Landi has only one touchdown and hasn't been targeted much in the last two weeks. With Love and Mitchell both out, look for Daniels to find his tight end/wide receiver more. Battle plays in the nickel defensive package and will have to match-up with him and his size.

Kayvon Webster vs. WR D.J. Woods

Woods is a big downfield threat for the Bearcats, both in the pass and return game. Look for Webster to lock him down in coverage and try to take the fast receiver out of the mix.

Michael Lanaris vs. QB Zach Collaros

Collaros is a big time dual-threat quarterback that torched USF the last time he played in Tampa. Lanaris is the leading tackler for the Bulls and will be in charge of keeping an eye on him from the middle of the box. If Collaros escapes the pocket and uses his legs, Lanaris and the other linebackers have to take him down fast.
