From Greg Auman - Wide receiver A.J. Love left the Pitt game with an ankle sprain last Thursday night and will missing this week's practices, but should be ready for UCONN next Saturday (according to Holtz).
Love made a nice reception for a 13 yard gain, but went down awkwardly. Love was able to limp off the field, but did not return to the game. Several fans said they saw him walking on the sidelines with his ankle heavily taped.
While it is hard to predict whether or not he will be ready for the UCONN game (3:30 PM is the official kickoff for the game), USF has depth at the receiver position to fill in for him if he is not ready to play. Andre Davis and Ruben Gonzalez continue to get more playing time and other receivers like Marc, Miller, T-Rex (once healthy), and others can step in for him until he is healthy.
As a fan, I am glad it is nothing too severe. Love was gone through two ACL injuries and seeing him limp off the field brought back bad memories. Hope he recovers fast and gets back on the field.
