Rush Through the Roster: Anthony Collins

The Bulls will have a new point guard in the backcourt this season and it's possible a freshman could get a lot of playing time early and often. Guard Anthony Collins, part of the 2011 recruiting class, has a chance to make an impact in his first season with the Bulls.

Collins joins USF Westbury Christian School, rated as a two-star recruit (according to Scout.com). While in high school, he averaged 12 points per game, 8.3 assists per game, 3 steals per game, and shot 60% from the field as well. He is a pure point guard, choosing to pass to his teammates more than getting his own shots. But don't be fooled, he can get his own shot and shoots a very high percentage from the field, making him a well balanced guard (something we didn't see from Crater).

Collins is battling for the starting point guard spot this season. With Crater gone, it is the biggest void on the team and this biggest opportunity for the young players. Collins might lose the starting spot to Blake Nash, but he will get his chance this season to run the point and help contribute early and often at USF. He is destined for a great career with the Bulls.
