USF Soccer Takes on Villanova

Corbett Stadium will be rocking tonight for the Bulls as they take on Villanova.

The USF men's soccer team, 10-2-2 (5-0-1) takes on Big East foe Villanova today at 7:30PM (plenty of time to get to this game after the big football game and win over Cincinnati). USF is playing their best soccer right now and will look to continue the winning ways against the Wildcats.

Villanova enters the night with a record of 5-6-4 (2-3-1) and 2-4-2 away from home this season, so playing at Corbett with the noise and energy of the home crowd will play a factor in this game.

Sophomore forward Dylan Renna (6-3 185-pounds) has 3 goals and 4 assists on the season. Freshman forward Aaron Dennis (6-2 175-pounds) has 4 goals and 1 assist. Junior defender Kyle Soroka (6-1 160-pounds) has 4 goals (even scoring attack across the board for the Wildcats). Freshman midfielder Oscar Umar (6-0 160-pounds) has 2 goals and 3 assists on the season as well.

The goalkeeper is senior John Fogarty (6-3 182-pounds) . He has allowed 15 goals on the season (.94 goals per game, pretty low average). He has made 63 saves on the season as well (.808 stop percentage). He is a very active goalkeeper and will make Dom Dwyer's life a little bit harder.

On paper, USF is the better team and should win this game. They have more firepower, are playing at home, and have all the momentum in the world, but they have to continue to get better and continue to win the games they should. Look for Dwyer to get plenty of shots in during this game and come away with a victory on Homecoming day. GO BULLS!
