USF Volleyball Takes on Notre Dame

After a big conference win over DePaul last night, the USF ladies, 9-11 (5-2) hit the road as they face Big East opponent Notre Dame in a huge conference matchup (game starts at 2PM).

Notre Dame enters the match with a record 11-8 (4-3) so far. They are also 6-4 at home, so USF will be facing a tough, hostile road environment again.

Notre Dame is led by sophomore outside-hitter Andrea McHugh (5-10). She has 195 kills, 19 sets, 26 service aces, and 253 digs. Freshman middle-blocker/right side hitter Jeni Houser (6-2) leads the team with 200 kills on the season. She also has 57 digs and 50 blocks. Senior outside-hitter Kristen Dealy (6-0) has 148 kills and 214 digs.

Junior middle-blocker Hilary Eppink (6-2) has 126 kills on the year. Freshman outside-hitter/right side hitter Toni Alugbue (6-0) has 113 kills (a lot of youth on the Notre Dame team). Sophomore setter Maggie Brindock (5-11) 463 sets and 83 digs. Sophomore middle-blocker Sammie Brown (6-2) has 263 sets.

USF could use a huge road win here. The ladies currently sit in 5th place in Big East, but Notre Dame sits 6th and several teams are right behind USF, so a road win would be huge for the team. It won't be easy, but the leaders on the team like J'beria Davis, Janice Rivera, and others have to take over and shine this afternoon
