After another double overtime tie (6th straight overtime game for the ladies) USF, 5-3-4 (1-1-3) hit the road to take on the Louisville Cardinals, hoping to get a win and in regulation.
Louisville is 4-5-3 (2-1-2) and just 0-4-1 at home this season, so the home turf of the Cardinals has not helped them all year and USF needs to keep this trend going to come away with a big win to get them back in the top standings in the Big East.
Cardinals are led by Christine Exeter who has 4 goals and 2 assists on the season (has taken 35 shots to lead the Cardinals team). Angelika Uremovich has 2 goals and 2 assists on the season as well, so not the highest scoring team, but balanced with who gets the job done. Erin Yenney has 1 goal and 2 assists on the year with 19 shots on the season as well.
Goalkeeper Chloe Kiefer (honestly, no clue if she is related to Coach Kiefer for the men's team for the Bulls). She has allowed 13 goals on the season (1.01 per game) while making 50 saves on the year. Making 50 saves is a key number because it shows that opposing teams are getting on the Cardinal backline easily and get a lot of shots on the shot. Demi Stokes, Chelsea Klotz, and Noelle Pineiro have to attack early and often in this game.
USF needs this win big time. Playing overtime games when they could dominate and not getting the big wins they need hurt, but have been building experiences for the team. They should come out fast and strong in this game and try to put Louisville away early.
