Five Ways USF can Win/Lose to Louisville

If Bobby Eveld gets the start, he will have to move the offense down the field.

There are a lot of ways USF can lose this game (the list seems endless) but there are also ways they can win the game as well. Let's take a look at the top 5 ways they can win or lose.

5 ways USF can win this game

Quarterback play - Whether Daniels or Eveld takes the snaps, if they play well and execute the offense, they can move the ball. The Cardinals defense is not the most elite in the world and USF has speed on the field, if they can find a way to get the ball to the playmakers in open space, they can win.

Wide receiver play - USF is thin at receiver, but the young players such as Davis, Welch, Gonzalez, etc. are doing a solid job so far. They have the potential to break out (Davis and Welch especially). If the short passing game is the way the offense is going to be run, they have to get into the routes and get up field with their speed.

Defense comes to play again - The defense shut down the Miami run game and got a lot of pressure. They will have to do the same against a spread offense in Louisville and a quarterback that can get yardage with his feet.

Home game - The game is at home, so that always counts for something. The 11AM kickoff will be a little bit different, especially for the fans, but hopefully they are awake enough for the kickoff and cheer for the team as they take the field.

Do or die - Face it, this is a must win for USF. Louisville is a beatable team. USF is at home and needs the win to get bowl eligible. They will have a short week next week on a Thursday night (oh crap) and will be facing WVU's offense (mercy), so they need to win this game if they want to get to a bowl game.

5 ways USF can lose this game

Quarterback play - Yes, the quarterback play is a reason we can lose. If Daniels is slowed down and can't throw, the Cardinals will try to load the box. If Eveld is on the field, the zone read run offense will be gone and the team will struggle. Whoever takes the snaps will have to do something productive.

Coaching staff - We have ripped the coaching staff all week (along with everyone else) and if they call another bad game like they did against Miami, it will kill the team. They have to do a better job in the calls and actually go for it when they have a chance.

Early kickoff - The early kickoff is going to be rough on the players and the home crowd. With Thanksgiving and the long hours of Black Friday shopping, will fans be awake and headed to the stadium or will everyone be half asleep and going through the motions for the game.

Team is fading - The team has lost 5 of the last 6 games, a big time collapse and there is not much fight left. The team is battling, but with injuries mounting and the frustration growing, the team may not be able to rally in the final two weeks to get to a bowl game.

Offense just can't do - If Daniels it out and the team has to rely on Eveld, we are in trouble. The offense just can't seem to take the next step and score points. Maybe its talent, depth, playcalling, whatever it is, the Bulls can't seem to get over it and score points for the defense.
