Tahira Johnson is next on the roster break down. Johnson is a very experienced player that will continue to develop in her second season with the Bulls.
Tahira Johnson - 6-1 - Forward - Sophomore
Tahira was a top recruit when she came to USF, ranked the 79th best player and 14th best forward prospect in 2008-2009.
Last season, she averaged played in 27 of 31 games, averaging 1.1 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game, not the biggest numbers, but the talent is there.
She is a very explosive player that works hard for rebounds and moves up and down the court well. She handles the up-tempo pace well and has a lot of people talking this off season, especially Coach Fernandez.
The style the Bulls run on offense requires speed, but playing in the Big East, the need for size in the paint is critical. Johnson brings both the athletic ability of the fast tempo and the height needed to battle in the paint for rebounds. Expect a big season from her.
